Launched in 2023, our on-site pilates classes aim to provide colleagues with more access to physical activities in the workplace.

Pilates is a form of exercise that promotes strength, flexibility, balance, body awareness and endurance. It focuses on precision and control of movement through a variety of exercises, including stability at the central core.

The majority of sessions hosted at Gateshead Health are based around mat work with exercises also done in standing positions. Exercises can be varied depending on your ability and any musculoskeletal injuries you’re managing. This also means sessions are suitable for all abilities, with qualified instructors ready to support you in making progress.
