This app can help you to stress less, sleep soundly and increase your resilience. Your free Headspace Plus membership will help you learn the life-changing skills of meditation and mindfulness, and help you practice them when you need it most.

Unmind

Unmind is a mental health platform that empowers you to proactively improve your mental wellbeing.

The app uses scientifically-backed assessments, tools and training to help you measure and manage your personal mental health needs. Included in the app are digital programmes designed to help with sleep, stress, coping, connection, fulfilment and nutrition.

Togetherall

Togetherall provides a safe, online community where people support each other anonymously to improve mental health and wellbeing.

Millions of people in the UK have access to Togetherall through their employer, university, college, NHS provider or local council. All armed forces personnel, veterans and their families (16+) can also access the platform free.

ShinyMind

ShinyMind is an evidence-based, proven mental health and wellbeing app, co-created with the NHS. Targeted primarily towards nurses, midwives and healthcare support workers, the app is accessible free to anyone with an @nhs.net email address.

ShinyMind is a proven concept which can help you to improve your mood, increase positivity, manage stress and boost your overall wellbeing. 94% of nurses who used the app said that it helped them to feel better, while over half reported improved confidence and 100% felt they’d benefit from continuing to use the platform.

Orpheus Mind Technologies

Orpheus’ one-of-a-kind app helps you to quickly reduce the intensity of stress you may experience. The app uses recent advances in therapy and brain science to help lower the emotional load of specific stressful/painful thoughts and experiences – without you needing to talk about them.

Totally different from common therapies or apps which use CBT, hypnosis, or mindfulness, Orpheus Academy can be used to complement other approaches or work on its own. You just need 15-20 minutes where you won’t be interrupted.

#StayAlive

The Stay Alive app was developed by Grassroots Suicide Prevention and is a suicide prevention resource packed full of useful information and tools to help keep you safe in crisis.

This app should be used when having thoughts of suicide or other intrusive thoughts, or if you are concerned about someone else who may be considering suicide.

Included with the app are a safety plan which helps you identify reasons for living, a lifebox where you can store important photos and memories, strategies for staying safe, tips on how to stay grounded when feeling overwhelmed and guided breathing exercises.

The app also links you directly to local and national crisis resources, and can be accessed via web, iOS and Android.

Bright Sky

Bright Sky is a free app available on both Android and iOS, which is there to provide support and information to anyone who may be in an abusive relationship or who is concerned about someone they know.

The app features a directory of specialist domestic abuse support services, a journal feature for recording incidents of abuse, assessment tools, information, support, advice, contact details, resources and signposting.

My Possible Self

Sister company of Inhealthcare, My Possible Self has developed a doctor-approved and award-winning self-help app aimed at helping patients to access support and improve their mental wellbeing in a way which suits them.

NHS colleagues can access the app free of charge, with tools and resources that allow its users to tailor a way to manage their mental health more effectively. Using clinically certified interactive tools and methods based on cognitive behavioural therapy, the app can help users identify habits they want to change, manage anxiety, tackle depression, ease stress, improve sleep and more.

WorkLife Central

WorkLife Central, formally known as Cityparents, is an online platform which offers a programme of support and resource to NHS colleagues with no charge, and is available to access free until 31st March 2024.

The platform includes a programme which contains positive and practical support for working parents, delivered through expert-led webinars and seminars, peer insights, online blogs and articles as well as podcasts.
