Gateshead Carers

Gateshead Carers offer free services to carers as they look to empower those with unpaid caring roles to be stronger and more confident in controlling their life, claiming their rights, realising their potential, achieving their goals and keeping healthy.

Those who make contact with Gateshead Carers will be invited to have a chat with one of their Carer Wellbeing Facilitators, to learn more about your role as a carer and what matters to you.

First and foremost, Gateshead Carers are there to listen. Once you’ve shared your experience and any concerns, they’ll work with you to discuss their services and how they could work with you to create a wellbeing plan – and if your needs can’t be met by Gateshead Carers – they’ll put you in touch with another organisation that can!

Newcastle Carers

Newcastle Carers aims to offer a safe space for carers to talk, be heard and be supported.

Over 6000 carers are registered with the organisation, which offers a range of support services. Amongst them includes a carers information line, drop-in advice sessions, 1-to-1 appointments, counselling and therapy, group support, a grant scheme and much more.

The organisation is there to help and listen, and its experienced team will ensure your role as a carer is recognised and supported.

Durham County Carers Support

The primary carer support service in County Durham and Darlington, Durham County Carers Support supports over 24,000 carers across the region and provides free high-quality services and support to unpaid Carers over the age of 18.

Amongst the support services offered by the organisation includes 1-to-1 tailored support, listening services and therapies, help with completing forms, access to grants and funding, help to take breaks from your caring role, signposting, support groups and events, training on various topics as well as info on how to access a carers discount card and carers emergency card.

The organisation exists to improve carers lives by creating a community where Carers are recognized, valued and supported.

North Tyneside Carers' Centre

The North Tyneside Carers’ Centre is an organisation which supports both young and adult carers through everything from advocacy to health, 1-to-1 to peer support.

Also avaliable are specialist training sessions, all designed to help make life easier for you and the person you care for. Ultimately, the organisation exists to improve the quality of life of working carers in the region.

South Tyneside Adult Carers Service

The South Tyneside Adult Carers Service aims to provide support to unpaid carers through home and office visits, information and advice as well as the provision of opportunities to meet other carers.

Within the service are dedicated support groups for male carers and parent carers, offering peer support for all in a friendly and safe environment.

Carers Northumberland

Carers Northumberland are dedicated to improving the lives of unpaid carers by responding to their needs, informing them of their rights and entitlements.

The organisation’s services are suitable for those looking for help for the person you are caring for and those looking to reduce any feelings of social isolation.
