Gateshead Health’s ‘Jabathon’ will kick off this Monday 25th September, providing all colleagues with the opportunity to protect themselves and their patients from both Flu and Covid this winter.

With both Flu and Covid jabs available to staff, the campaign will kick-off on Monday with a daily service available from The Hub at the QE Hospital. The flu jab service will be available between 08:30am – 4:00pm daily, with staff only needing their NHS number to grab a jab.

Then, during the weeks commencing 2nd October & 9th October, an open drop-in service will be offered from the Occupational Health department. Here, staff will be able to access flu jabs (as well as Covid jabs should you desire) on a no-appointment needed basis. Just drop by during the day and we’ll look to get you jabbed and sent on your way as quickly as we can. Please note that this service will only be available on weekdays, Monday to Friday.

To find the Occupational Health Department, follow signs for Outpatients from the Main Entrance. Once you reach the Outpatients corridor, follow it to the end and turn left before heading through the door for Occupational Health.

And finally, from 2nd October a roaming flu jabs service will also be available for staff. The service will visit various areas and wards to provide jabs, with this service also taking place both at night and weekends too.

Flu can be a particularly serious illness for some, particularly those with weakened immune systems such as the elderly and young children. Gettting a flu jab not only protects you, but helps protect patients and colleagues. Vaccinations reduce the risk of spreading flu to those around us, and particularly those who are vulnerable.

Whether you find us in The Hub, Occupational Health or out and about in your area, please take 10 minutes over the next few weeks to play your part and get your jab.
