A new partnership with Newcastle University will see their Pharmacy students travel to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital once per month over the next 6 months to provide free health checks for #TeamGateshead colleagues.

Set to take place in The Listening Space on-site, health checks will take only 20-25 minutes to complete and will provide colleagues with a better understanding of their health as well as the steps that can be taken to improve it and manage or reduce risks.

Initial sessions will take place between 11:00am and 2:00pm and are booked in for:

  • Friday 6th October
  • Friday 3rd November
  • Friday 1st December
  • Friday 2nd January
  • Friday 8th March

To enquire about booking an appointment, simply complete our enquiry form and we’ll do our best to fit you in. Please note that spaces are limited so it might not always be possible to book your preferred slot.

Sessions will see students accompanied by an Academic Pharmacist, ensuring you’re always in good hands. All who attend can also expect to receive relevant advice and signposting based on their MOT, such as being directed to our stop smoking services, alcohol support and more.

It is hoped that a successful trial will lead to an extension of the partnership that can enable a more mobile offer, with hopes to visit different areas and sites throughout the Trust.

For any queries or feedback about this service, please contact us on [email protected]. Appointments are available for our first clinic on Friday 6th October, so do move quickly to avoid disappointment.
