Suicide Bereavement UK has launched new evidence-based ‘At Your Side guides’ for those in the armed forces community who have been bereaved by suicide.

Commissioned by NHS England and co-produced with individuals bereaved by suicide as well as experts in military mental health, suicide prevention and bereavement, two guides (At Your Side guide for veterans and At Your Side guide for families) are already live and available to download completely free from the Suicide Bereavement UK website. A third guide, At Your Guide side for serving personnel, is also set to be launched soon.

Guides are based on the experiences and needs of those who took part in the Armed Forces Suicide Bereavement study, where all participants were bereaved by suicide, having lost a friend, colleague, spouse, partner, adult child, parent or sibling during or after military service.

To download the guides or check for the release of the guide for serving personnel, just visit the Suicide Bereavement UK website. You can also learn more about further support available to veterans over on our dedicated armed forces support webpage.
