April is Stress Awareness Month and to mark the occasion, we’ll be focusing in on the topics of self-care as well as mental, physical and financial wellbeing throughout the month.

This year we’ll be encouraging colleagues to #ACTNOW to make lifestyle changes that can help to reduce stress. To help you in taking action, we’ll be promoting some of the support available to help you take care of yourself mentally, financially and physically throughout the month.

Also taking place during the month will be a Stress Awareness Month stall, helping promote more of these resources as well as providing you with the chance to chat with a colleague around any issues that are causing you stress. Further details of this will be published soon.

This week our focus is on financial wellbeing. Our recently-launched Guide to Financial Wellbeing brings together almost all of the support, discounts, savings, freebies and more available to you as a member of #TeamGateshead.

Amongst the contents within the guide includes information on free event tickets, cheap transport, discounted groceries, salary sacrifice schemes, free mental health support, financial support, information on grants, local food, drink and entertainment discounts and much, much more. Next week, our focus will be on mental wellbeing support, before we switch focus to physical wellbeing support followed by self-care support – all helping you to reduce stress levels and stay well.
