Colleagues at the NENC ICS Staff Wellbeing Hub are promoting the availability of a new long covid & long-term conditions support group which will launch in late June.

The mindfulness-based programme is a regular support offer from the Wellbeing Hub having been popular with those who’ve participated previously. The next programme will see meetings between 1:30pm – 3:30pm on the following dates:

  • 28th June
  • 5th July
  • 12th July
  • 19th July
  • 2nd August
  • 16th August
  • 23rd August
  • 30th August

The programme itself incorporates mindfulness training to support the development of awareness and pacing, designed to support you in overriding automatic habits of exhaustion and discomfort – ultimately serving to help you be with and reduce the tension and anxiety caused by life-long conditions or long-covid.

Also included in the programme is an exploration of how physical exercises and activities can aid you, while the group also provides a safe and supportive environment from those with similar experiences and challenges.

Only 8 places are available so we encourage those interested in joining the group to register their interest quickly. To do so, please contact the hub via email on [email protected] or by calling 0191 223 2030 to arrange a screening discussion.

Long-term conditions or chronic diseases are conditions for which there is currently no cure, and which are managed with drugs and/or other treatment, for example diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, arthritis and hypertension.
