Throughout the latest industrial action, colleagues will be able to once again collect free food and drink from catering facilities in recognition of the impact ongoing action has and the challenges it continues to bring. It is hoped that this offer will help your day at work a little easier.

Industrial action by our junior doctor colleagues started today at 7am and will run until Saturday at 7am.  During the time the industrial action is happening all staff will be entitled to:

  • free instant coffee and tea bags in the following:
    • the Hub
    • Bensham Hospital café
    • Peter Smith Surgery Centre café
    • the Beacon (Tranwell Unit)
  • free bottled water from
    • The Hub
    • Bensham Hospital café
  • one free soup and a boxed sandwich per person per day from:
    • the Hub
    • the Beacon at the Tranwell unit
    • Bensham Hospital café
  • ‘care packages’ for the week (delivered today) and boxed sandwiches (delivered daily) sent to:
    • Blaydon Primary Care Centre
    • Chowdene Children’s Centre
    • Felling Health Centre
    • Gateshead Health Centre
    • Low Fell Clinic
    • Team View
    • Trinity Square
    • Tyne View
    • Eastwood
    • QEF Spire House

Free frozen meals will still be available in the Hub and the Peter Smith Surgery Centre outside of normal food hours.
