A new trial led by the Occupational Health and Wellbeing team will offer colleagues free access to a four-week course of Pilates on-site at the QE Hospital as part of a new project pilot.

Pilot sessions are set to be led by Ann-Marie Ginnever, a musculoskeletal physiotherapist who works within the Physiotherapy team here at Gateshead. Ann-Marie is qualified in teaching Pilates having and will help launch of a trio of four-week pilot groups, set to take place:

  • From Thursday 25th May between 5:30pm – 6:30pm for 4 weeks in the Physiotherapy Room
  • From Thursday 29th June between 5:30pm – 6:30pm for 4 weeks in the Physiotherapy Room (subject to change)
  • From Wednesday 27th June between 5:30pm – 6:30pm for 4 weeks in the Physiotherapy Room (subject to change)

In addition to the above, Ann-Marie has also kindly agreed to lead a taster session as part of Learning At Work Week 2023, taking place in Rooms 9 & 10 of Trust HQ/Education Centre on Thursday 16th May between 3:00pm – 3:45pm. This will provide colleagues an opportunity to see if the sessions are for them ahead of signing up for the course.

Places on both the taster session and Pilates programmes are limited so sign-up we advise you to register your interest quickly to avoid disappointment. Succesful applicants will be contacted beforehand and asked to complete a consent form.
