May marks National Walking Month, and to celebrate we’re delighted to launch a new Walking Club which will provide colleagues with the chance to get active twice per week with a 20-minute walk around the site grounds.

Totalling 2250 steps, the walk will be provide a great way to get some fresh air during the day. Walking Club groups will take place on Monday and Wednesday lunchtimes (excluding any bank holidays), kicking off from Wednesday 10th May.

Walks will take place throughout May, and subject to the group’s success, may continue into the summer.

To get involved:

  • Simply meet your fellow colleagues, including Occupational Health Physiotherapist JP Gowland, at meeting point for 12:30pm
  • Enjoy the stroll – you’re free to join every group or pick and choose!

If you’d be interested helping us get a Walking Club set up at one of our other sites, please drop us a line on [email protected] – we’d be happy to help you promote it!

Coming soon – step count challenge:

Usually we mark National Walking Month with a stepcount challenge. This year, we’ve decided to tie a walking challenge into celebrations for the NHS 75th birthday, so keep an eye out for more information on that in coming weeks – and consider using the Walking Club as a handy way to boost your numbers throughout the challenge!
