As many parents prepare for their children to break up for the 2022 summer holidays, a number of local organisations have been putting together lists for parents, helping identify cheap or free meals, activities and more!

Over at The Chronicle, the newspaper have put together a list of supermarkets, cafes and restauraunts where your children can eat for free or for just £1 during the summer holidays.

Information Now has put together a list of family-friendly summer activities, including advice on parks, gardens and woodlands, day trips and visits, children’s activities, accessible venues in Newcastle and holiday. Also included is travel info, a list of local attractions, mueseums and galleries, music venues and events and more!

More events are available to view over on North East Family Fun’s Ultimate Guide to What’s On in the North East for Kids, and their list of 100 free things to do in the summer holiday is also worth a look!

And those looking to get about the North East cheaply can do so thanks to offers from Nexus (Metro) as well as bus companies Arriva, Stagecoach and Go North East, who are all operating free travel offers for kids on buses this summer.

The health and wellbeing team would like to thank Gill Renwick for her efforts in helping put together the above!
