A series of upcoming social events have been confirmed by Gateshead Health staff looking to provide colleagues with more opportunities to access social events over the coming months.

Organised by NHS North East Outdoor Activity Group co-founders Fior Sayer and Katy Maughan, two of the events pay tribute to festive occasions while the other offers colleagues the opportunity to enjoy a full day of canoeing on a pay-as-you-can basis.

Glass Bauble Workshop – Monday 7th November – 3:00pm

Hosted by Simply Smallholding at Leam Lane Community Centre, colleagues are invited to join Katy from 3:00pm to enjoy a workshop on glass baubles. Cost for this event is £38pp, with limited spaces available. To book, please get in touch with Katy directly on [email protected].

Canoeing on the North Tyne – Monday 28th November

Spaces are available for Gateshead colleagues to join Fior in enjoying a full day of canoeing along the North Tyne. The amazing day is ideal for anyone who is looking to enjoy a fun time in the great outdoors, and the decision has been made to run this event on a pay-as-you-can-afford basis, to be partly-funded by monies raised from Fior and Katy’s recent successful charity night. All equipment will be provided along with transport, while refreshments will also be included. If you would like to attend or learn more, please email Fior directly on [email protected].

Christmas Wreath Workshop – Saturday 3rd December – 10:00am

Also taking place at Leam Lane Community Centre, a Christmas Wreath Making workshop will take place this time with the help of floral creation specialists Room with a Bloom. Those who join Katy will get to make their own wreath to take home, enjoy a glass of bucks fizz on arrival along with hot food for lunch with mulled wine and sweet mince pies – a great way to kick off December. This one costs £37pp, and can again be booked through Katy directly on [email protected].
