Our congratulations go to Lianne Warner and Lisa Emmerson-Blair who have been named September’s Star of the Month by the Executive Team for their outstanding contributions.

Lisa who works on Ward 27 and Lianne who works on Ward 26, were nominated by David Tate and were recently awarded with a voucher for either an afternoon tea for two or a treat tray from The Hub at the QE as a token of appreciation for their fantastic efforts.

Why Lianne and Lisa are stars:

Lianne and Lisa are discharge coordinators on surgical wards 26 & 27. They do a fantastic job at ensuring patients have what they need in place to be safely and efficiently discharged, which includes chasing scripts, ensuring equipment is delivered on time, liaising with patients and families, organising packages of care and care home placements, and working with other trusts across the region (and sometimes country) where necessary. Between them, they have facilitated 252 discharges so far in Sept (an average of over 11 a day), including over 20 in one day (22nd Sept). Amazing work!

Remember, you can always nominate a colleague who has gone over and above throughout the previous month over on StaffZone. Just search ‘Star Awards’ and make your way to the ‘You’re a Star’ page via the left-hand navigation menu. All nominees receive a copy of their nomination, a card of thanks from our Executive Team and a lucky winner is chosen each month to win a treat tray or afternoon tea.
