Neurodiversity refers to diversity in cognition, emotion and sensory perception amongst us, and encompasses a range of conditions inclusive of ADHD, autism, dyslexia and more.

In the United Kingdom, around 20% of the population is neurodivergent, with this diversity bringing a wealth of different thinking and learning styles which greatly enrich our society. In the workplace, research suggests that teams with neurodivergent professionals can be up to 30% more productive than those without, with common strengths including focus, creativity, innovation, detail and authenticity.

In healthcare, understanding and embracing neurodiversity is crucial – both with our neurodivergent colleagues and our patients. By increasing our awareness around neurodiversity, as well as better recognising and valuing it, we can deliver more personalised and effective care.
