The North East and Yorkshire Leadership Academy (NEYLA) is offering #TeamGateshead colleagues the opportunity to be supported through the winter through its various dedicated winter wellbeing virtual café sessions, taking place throughout January & February.
A full list of available sessions, which are free-to-attend, take place via Teams and aim to support you through the winter, can be found along with links to sign-up and a brief description below:
- Thursday 9th January (10:00am – 11:30am) – Looking after you – ABC of stress: A morning session suitable for staff of any level focusing on stress, how we recognise it and respond to it, the importance of providing opportunities for recovery, understanding stressors and the importance of practicing self-care and self-compassion.
- Tuesday 14th January (12:00pm – 1:30pm) – Winter Support -Health & Wellbeing Café: A session designed to support those in leadership positions an opportunity and dedicated time to think about wellbeing and what it means to you; share experiences, concerns, information and resources; learn from top tips and put ideas into practice in breakout room sessions.
- Wednesday 22nd January (12:00pm – 1:30pm) – Winter Health & Wellbeing Support: Looking after Yourself: A 90-minute session which focuses on how leaders can better look after themselves to sustain energy, and which will focus on understanding your own needs, energy and thinking mechanisms; how you can nurture yourself and your teams and more.
- Tuesday 11th February (12:00pm – 1:30pm) – Winter Health & Wellbeing Support – Looking after your Staff: A 90-minute session similar to the above, but with increased focus on how you can ensure that your approach as a leader is considerate of and contributing to the wellbeing of your team and the individuals within it.
- Thursday 20th February (12:00pm – 1:30pm) – Winter Support: Health and Wellbeing Café: A session designed to support those in leadership positions an opportunity and dedicated time to think about wellbeing and what it means to you; share experiences, concerns, information and resources; learn from top tips and put ideas into practice in breakout room sessions.
As well as these dedicated winter sessions, NEYLA also promotes a range of other training & development opportunities regularly. Amongst those currently being promoted to colleagues are sessions organised further down the country but open to staff from Gateshead – including a February 12th (1pm – 2pm) session on ‘Neurodiversity & the Menopause’ and a March 26th (1pm – 2pm) session, ‘Empowering parents: supporting neurodiversity & work-life balance‘.
