The health and wellbeing team is pleased to confirm two new partnerships aimed at providing #TeamGateshead colleagues with cut-price access to gyms in the region, helping you get and stay active for less.
After opening Newcastle’s largest gym in Newcastle Shopping Park last week, we’re delighted to welcome NRG Gym on board. NRG are offering all NHS colleagues their membership at just £21 per month, a saving of around £5 a month. There’s also a new joiner offer running online at the moment where you can get your first month for just £19.95, meaning you could save even more in your first month.
Included in memberships is 24/7 access, a packed schedule of classes, a dedicated boxing zone and female only area, a spin studio, saunas, free parking, WiFi and more.
To join NRG, it is recommended you join online to get the best savings and contact the team by email on [email protected], attaching a copy of your NHS ID and asking for your discount to be applied to your account. You can also do this in-person when joining by visiting reception at the gym itself if you’d prefer to join in person.
Also joining our roster of fitness partners is Smarter Fitness, located at the other end of Shields Road just by the end of Byker Bridge and with thanks to health and wellbeing ambassador, Fior Sayer, who has kindly facilitated a partnership.
Smarter Fitness is operated by Shamone Ahmed, who has worked with many NHS colleagues previously and is now offering semi-private group training sessions for four people, three times per week, at the cost of £150 per month. Also available are free consultations and first sessions at the gym, and you can find out more about all of these offers on the Smarter Fitness website.
