About reasonable adjustments
Reasonable adjustments can be made without any need for input from Occupational Health or People and OD.
This being said, often reasonable adjustments are a legal requirement. As an organisation, we’re bound by the Equality Act (2010), which outlines that we must take steps to remove any boundaries faced by individuals due to disabilities and long-term conditions. To that end, Occupational Health are always available to provide advice on the Equality Act where needed.
However, reasonable adjustments can be made at your own initiative too, and can be a powerful tool in supporting staff wellbeing. Of course, the key consideration is whether an adjustment is indeed reasonable. Some examples of adjustments can be found over on the NHS Employers website.
