A number of LGBTQ+ History Month events that are arranged by Newcastle Hospitals but open to all Gateshead Health colleagues are taking place throughout February.

Below is a short summary of upcoming events, alongside a document which can be downloaded for more information on each event.

February 7th – Ask Me Anything – Coming Out Through The Decades:
Hear from three NHS Colleagues as well as Phillipa Scrafton of Stonewall Scotland as all share their experiences of coming out. To book your place please email [email protected].

February 17th – Evening Social at RVI MediCinema:
A Friday night screening of Blue Jean, a movie set in the North East, followed by a performance by Northern Proud Voices Community Choir. To book a spot, please email [email protected].

February 21st – Handing On Our History at Leazes Park:

February 28th – Gay in the 80s – Were the 80s a pivotal era in LGBT+ history?
A Teams event which will see Colin Clews, author of the book and the blog ‘Gay in the 80s’, talk about why he thinks the 80s were such an important decade in LGBT+ history. To book your place please email [email protected].
