The Gateshead Health LGBT+ Network held its latest monthly meeting in our dedicated health and wellbeing facility, The Listening Space. After screening Pride (2014) on the evening, the network is now looking to trial a monthly film evening.
Film evenings will centre around movies that are relevant to the LGBT+ calendar, with the following dates and screenings now penned in as part of the trial.
Monday 31st March – 5:00pm – 8:00pm in the Listening Space:
On the Trans Day of Visibility, the film Boy Meets Girl will be shown.
“A funny, tender, sex positive romantic comedy that explores what it means to be a real man or woman, and how important it is to live a courageous life not letting fear stand in the way of going after your dreams.” Certificate R. Please note moderate sex & nudity and I’m told that there is a suicide reference too.
Monday 28th April – 5:00pm – 8:00pm in the Listening Space:
On Lesbian Day of Visibility, a film is still to be confirmed – but may possibly be But I’m a Cheerleader.
“A naive teenager is sent to rehab camp when her straitlaced parents and friends suspect her of being a lesbian.” Certificate 15
