Topic titles and dates of our next two Schwartz Rounds sessions have now been confirmed, with colleagues invited to book onto the sessions by e-mailing [email protected] to request a calendar invitation.
Schwartz Rounds help to remind us that we are not alone in our efforts to deliver healthcare, and that our strength comes from the way in which we support each other. A reflective practice, rounds are facilitated discussions which lean on the experiences of storytellers to help open up discussion of a certain topic to a wider audience. Sessions give all who attend the chance to reflect on the emotions they experience while working in healthcare, and share their own thoughts and experiences if desired.
Wednesday 22nd January, 11:00am – 12:00pm (Microsoft Teams): Apologising to Patients
We all try to do the very best for our patients, but sometimes things don’t go as planned and we have to apologise.
Or, we find that we need to apologise for things that are out of our control, or that somebody else has done.
How does it feel to have to say ‘I’m sorry’? And how do our patients receive that apology?
If this resonates with you, or if you have a specific story to tell we’d love you to come along to our next Schwartz Round via Teams. Contact us on [email protected] to be sent the Teams link.
