We are delighted to confirm the return of free period products for staff, made available for collection in the Occupational Health department from today.
With thanks to the Gateshead Health Charity and its dedicated Staff Wellbeing Fund, products available include day and night pads, both non-applicator and cardboard applicator tampons as well as liners. All products are from multi-award winning period product social enterprise hey girls. Those who collect the period products can expect to collect a white paper bag filled with a box of each product to take away for storage and use in their respective working area.
The order and successful charity bid comes following requests from various teams around the Trust to renew a similar previous initiative, and will hopefully help us to support in responding to feedback shared with our Women’s Network that increasing the accessibility of period products would be beneficial to staff. To this end, a small supply will also be kept in our Listening Space to ensure 24/7 access and to help ensure colleagues never have to be caught short.
To claim a bag, simply drop by Occupational Health and ask at reception. While you’re here, it might also be worth asking about a flu vaccination – we’ll always do our best to squeeze visitors in, help boost our uptake and protect you, your family, friends and patients over winter!
Alternatively, if you’d prefer a more private approach or are based outside the QE Hospital, just get in touch via [email protected] to arrange collection.
