Today is Carer’s Rights Day 2022, and to mark the occasion we’ve launched a brand-new webpage detailing all of the local carer support groups and centres across the region.

Included amongst the groups on our newest page are services located out of Gateshead, Newcastle, County Durham, North Tyneside, South Tyneside and Northumberland. Also promoted is our own Carers Circle, which aims to provide colleagues with peer support from those who experience similar challenges.

As we promote the occasion, we also want to bring your attention to the support available from the Trust to colleagues with caring responsibilities.

To that end, we’d like to point you in the direction of the Carer’s Passport, a document completed by colleagues with working carer responsibilities and shared with line managers to help generate a better understanding of the impact caring responsibilies can have, and prompt thought about how reasonable adjustments can be made to support carers to stay well at work. Guidance for both carers and managers is also available, with links to download this via the buttons below.
